We made our annual trek to Tom Ping Park in Chinatown to watch the dragon boat races with Jenny. (We got a very late start, so we missed most of our FCC friends unfortunately. See you next year.)
What a difference a year makes. Jenny and mom in July 2008:
Jenny and mom in July 2009:
This year Jenny could count along with the drummers, who keep the boat teams rowing in unison. She used her Puffs container to keep the beat.
She also took a keen interest in the playground this year. She is a very active kid, and loves to climb and to hang from jungle gyms. Her dad is teaching her how. She'll be ready for the preschool ropes course soon!

Changes...

It's another summer, and we are reminded daily of the changes in Jenny from a year ago, when we first came home from China. We played ball in the yard this past weekend, and I kept thinking of the short little wee one who played with such gusto a year ago. Now Jenny talks while she hurls the ball. Some of her best phrases: "gooo, daddy," or "my do it," or "camera" (sounds just like "grandma," so mom is often confused about the topic of conversations).
