Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

And how are we coping with all of this?

Kris & Dave, I was SO sad for you this morning when I read your news. I can't even believe that this could happen! I can't imagine the heartbreak you must be feeling. You're in my thoughts today and I will be here to cheer when you finally get that referral. I am so sorry.

We had a similiar situation with our agency. Although they worked to get things straight, SNAFU happened. I took the VERY PRO-ACTVE approach of being in their business on a weekly basis. Did it make a difference, I felt good but in the long run... we received the daughter that was right for us. She has been home for year and half and we love her dearly.

Hi there,
We we're sorry to hear your update. We are thinking of you and know you have gotten through so much already, that you will just "keep swimming" as you you have done so well, already. Hang in and know we're thinking positve thoughts about 2008!!

Thanks, all, for the encouraging words. We are looking for perspective in all the usual places--empathy from friends and fellow adopters, accounts/reassurance from BTDT families, and humor from anyone, including celluloid characters (apologies to Dory...).

Quite sincerely, we appreciate everyone's support. It helps to know that others have been there and gotten to the other side, and that those who haven't are still pulling for us.

Disappointment aside, we are doing OK. We'll keep you posted.

Wow, I feel bad. I finally got around to visiting your blog for the first time (Actually this is the first time I have ever visited any blog ever!) and I find this news. I am sorry for you and glad to hear that you will "just keep swimming." Your little girl will be so lucky to have two parents who have counted the hours until her arrival, even if those hours were extended by frustrating problems with paperwork. Hang in there. And next time I check this out I will talk books with you - our shelves overflow and we continue to add more. There are so many great books out there!
